January 2016 Newsletter

We wish everyone a Happy New Year and we are all looking forward to a successful year ahead.

We would like to start by congratulating those who have passed their written exams, achieved their first solos as well as their qualifying cross countries and finally their skills tests.

Congratulations to Alex Busby, Chris Edwards and Kev Bennett for completing their Skills test.

Well done to Gerald Reeves, Mike Williams, James Coughlan, Irfaan Jeeva, Clive Gardner and Steve Rich who all achieved their milestone first solo flights from Gloucestershire Airport.

There have also been several members who have successfully completed their solo land away and  qualifying cross countries. Hopefully the weather will be good to us next month, we have two students ready for their Skills Test and waiting for good conditions.

Some of you may have already met Mark Walters our newest instructor. Mark will now be available for instructing every Sunday as well as his usual Fridays and Saturdays.

After a long wait, Staverton Flying School finally now has two new much needed briefing rooms, this will also offer the extra space to facilitate more RT courses.

A number of our members along with Kathryn recently attended a GASCo Safety evening at Imjin Barracks. It was a very interesting and informative evening, well worth attending! Look out for future evenings.
